Planning a Hen Party in Sligo: Activities, Nights Out and How Booking Works

Sligo is small enough that everything is a short walk, and lively enough that the night never runs out. Surf at Strandhill in the morning, have a long lunch, and be in a reserved area on Maeve’s Lane by evening without a taxi in between.

We’ve run hens and stags in Sligo for years, and we’ve been a finalist for Hen & Stag Supplier of the Year. Most of the nights we book end in our own bars, so we know exactly what your group is walking into.

Pick a vibe, then an activity

Most groups want one daytime activity, one dinner and one big night. These are the ones hens book most:

  • Fancy dress and themes: Cowboys and Hens, Barbie, Tiki, or Pearls & Black Bows for something classier.
  • Laughs: Bingo Madness, the Drag Queen Show, Mrs Doyle and her Grannies, Battle of the Bridesmaids.
  • Make something: Cocktail Masterclass, Paint and Sip, Flower Crown, Draw or Sculpt a Naked Guy.
  • Outdoors: surfing at Strandhill, a Sligo boat tour, Hen Party Bootcamp.
  • A slower pace: a Pamper package, Gin & Yoga, or the Taste of Sligo foodie tour.

See the full list on our hen activities page.

The night out

This is the part we know best. Maeve’s Lane is four bars in one building on Queen Maeve Square:

  • Maeve’s for live music and atmosphere.
  • Gráinne’s cocktails, served across the Lane, and a room you can close off for a private group.
  • Maurice Fitz’s for a local bar feel.
  • The Garavogue for dancing into the night.

Our nights out give your group a reserved area with shots, bubbly or cocktails waiting. Want a band? Start in Waxies on a Saturday night. Prefer cocktails in a booth? Tannery Lane is open Friday and Saturday from 6pm.

How booking works

  1. Send us an enquiry with as much or as little as you know.
  2. We send back a full quote covering every supplier.
  3. You pay a deposit: the cost of one person.
  4. Every guest gets their own link to pay for their place, so you don’t chase anyone.
  5. The balance is due one month before the hen.

Tips from our team

  • Summer Saturdays go first, so get your enquiry in early.
  • Send the bride’s name and your theme with the enquiry, and we’ll set your reserved area up for it.
